stages® Documentation - Home
The Auto Feed features will assign alarms to operators. When an operator is in Auto Feed mode, and available to handle an alarm, Stages will assign the operator the next available alarm. When this occurs the Alarm Dispatch window will automatically open on the operator’s screen with the alarm selected.
The user enters Auto Feed mode using the Auto Feed option on the Site menu. Auto Feed can be exited from the Site menu, or the link in the Alarm Dispatch Window. Exit auto feed before releasing the current account or another site will be auto fed.
The Auto Feed Task (typically Task #13) will assign alarms to operators in Auto Feed mode. The process will assign the highest priority, oldest alarm to the operator that qualifies for the alarm. If there are multiple operators available for an alarm, Stages will assign the alarm to the operator that has been waiting the longest.
Auto Feed is filtered by Dispatch Queues and Site Groups. Queues are assigned to operators in the User Dispatch utility and Site Groups are assigned in the User Partitions utility.
User Roles can affect how the auto feed functions for users. User roles have options for automatic entrance into auto feed with login and the ability to manually lock accounts.
A user with manual Dispatch Locking can not enter Auto Feed. A message will appear if they try to enter through the Auto Feed menu item. Manual locking can be turned off for the current session in the User Preferences utility (Utilities > User Preferences). The next time the user logs in, they will be in Manual Lock again.
The Site Menu Item 'Next Alarm' (Ctrl-Alt-X) will open the next available alarm in the queue. This allows being auto- fed an alarm without entering auto feed mode.
The auto feed mode of users is tracked in the stages® Summary window (Utilities > stages™ Summary). The auto feed mode is recorded in the Session History report.
