Out of Service

Devices can be placed Out of Service (OOS) to suppress the device from generating alarms.

OOS Category

There are different categories of OOS defined in the OOS Category setup (Setup > Device Setup > OOS Category).  The category has the option to continue to log events into history and to automatically be placed in service after an On Test event.

Device OOS

Devices are placed Out of Service from the Site Data Entry window using the Out of Service button and In Service using the In Service Button.  Devices in service display the Out of Service button and devices out of service display the In Service button.

Devices to be placed out of service can be scheduled in the future by assigning a date/time.

The Xmit# must be entered and confirmed to place a device In or Out of Service.

New Device Default OOS

New devices that have not been activated yet can be assigned a default OOS category in the stages® Options utility.

Site Group Mass In/Out of Service

Once the device has been activated, clear the OOS Category in the Device window, or utilize the In Service function in the Site Group setup window to place a range of Xmit#s into service. Ranges of Xmit#s can be assigned an OOS Category using the Out of Service function.
